Water Hyacinth: A Pathway to Environmental and Economic Transformation.
Water hyacinth, an invasive aquatic plant that disrupts ecosystems and local fishing. However, this problematic plant also presents a remarkable opportunity for transformation when managed effectively. Our initiative transforms this ecological threat into a resource through a focus on environmental conservation, women empowerment, and livelihood creation. By training and equipping marginalized and economically disadvantaged women from local communities to harvest and process water hyacinth, we enable them to gain valuable skills and contribute meaningfully to their households and communities.
River Cleaning Drives
Steadfast Commitment: Swachhatapukare's Weekly River Cleanup.
For almost five and a half years, the Swachhatapukare Foundation has been a tireless force in the effort to preserve the Swarnrekha River clean. Every week, without fail, this dedicated team of volunteers gathers at the riverbank, armed with gloves, bags, and a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship. Their mission is clear: to bring about a behavioral change among the citizens and ensure a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.
